Your theory.
Your exam location.
Cranfield students are not tied to one examination room or one country. We coordinate theoretical examinations with EASA competent authorities and authorised exam centres worldwide — so your exam plan can fit your training, work and travel.
Study where you are. Sit the exam where it works.
For an international pilot, the closest exam centre is not always the best exam centre. Availability, language, authority procedures, travel and your remaining subjects can all matter. Our role is to help you choose the right route and coordinate the required ATO steps.
Austro Control 2026.
The current published external-centre list spans 11 countries. We show the geographical reach here — not fixed exam dates — because centres, schedules and availability can change during the year.
How we keep this page current.
We intentionally do not publish a permanent calendar of individual exam dates. Instead, this page shows a clearly dated network snapshot and links to the authority as the source of truth. When you are ready to sit exams, Cranfield confirms the current centre, schedule, capacity and registration procedure before anything is booked.
Reviewed September 2026
We arrange the route with you.
Tell us where you are.
Your home base, travel plans, preferred dates and remaining subjects give us the starting point.
We verify the authority and centre.
We check the current examination route, centre availability, booking procedure and any authority-specific administrative requirements before recommending a location.
Cranfield completes the ATO side.
For the Part-FCL theoretical knowledge examinations covered by our courses, the ATO recommendation is a standard prerequisite. Cranfield prepares and issues this recommendation once the applicable training requirements have been met, and we coordinate any additional application documentation required for your chosen authority or centre.
You sit the examination.
You arrive knowing which authority, which centre and which subjects are planned — while we remain your training organisation throughout the process.
Your EASA exam desk may be thousands of kilometres from Europe.
Austro Control's 2026 external network includes examination locations in the United States, Brazil and South Africa. That can be particularly useful for pilots training, working or living internationally — the exam location can be outside Europe while the examination is conducted under the responsible EASA authority's framework.
The nearest centre is not always the best centre.
Global exams, without the guesswork.
Can I choose an exam centre outside my home country?
Yes. Cranfield supports examination planning with EASA competent authorities and authorised centres internationally. EASA authorities recognise examination results issued by other EASA competent authorities, so your home country does not restrict where you may sit the exam. Current booking, centre and documentation procedures still apply.
Do I book the exam before speaking to Cranfield?
Please speak to us before booking. For the Part-FCL theoretical knowledge examinations covered by our courses, an ATO recommendation is required before you sit the exam. That recommendation is separate from the choice of EASA authority or exam centre, and Cranfield coordinates it for you once the applicable training requirements are met.
Can I start with one authority and finish with another?
Yes. Part-FCL examination results from one EASA competent authority are accepted by the other EASA authorities, and no prior release or approval from another authority is required. Your examination record, sittings and attempts still remain part of the applicable Part-FCL framework, so we keep the exam plan consistent and documented.
Why are exact exam dates not listed here?
Because a global exam page should stay accurate. External-centre calendars change, sometimes during the year. We therefore publish a dated network snapshot and verify the live schedule when you are ready.
Are Austro Control exams available outside Europe?
Yes. The 2026 external-centre list includes locations in the United States, Brazil and South Africa as well as a wide European network.
What does Cranfield arrange?
We help plan the authority and location, verify the current procedure and coordinate the ATO documentation required for your chosen examination route.
Tell us where you are. We will help build the exam plan around it.
Germany, Austria, another European country or further abroad — start with your location and training status. Our team will help identify the examination route that fits.
