Booking questions, answered.
Which documents do I need for enrolment?
The form guides you through identification, medical documentation, licence information and regulatory evidence. Where indicated, documents can also be submitted later.
Can I book the course from abroad?
Yes. The ATPL(H) course is online and Cranfield supports helicopter pilots internationally.
What is the difference between ATPL-H/IR and ATPL-H/VFR?
The theory course supports both pathways. Your practical privileges and subsequent licensing route depend on whether you pursue the instrument-rated or VFR ATPL(H) pathway.
Do I need a helicopter licence before starting?
A valid ICAO or EASA PPL(H) or CPL(H) is normally required for ATPL(H) theoretical training. The form asks for the relevant licence details and evidence.
What if I do not yet have every document?
Select the appropriate option in the form. Some documents can be submitted later and our team will advise what must be in place before training or examination milestones.
Where can I sit the EASA exams?
Cranfield supports flexible examination planning with EASA authorities worldwide.
